Getting involved with the Melbourne Ducks is easy and can be done in many different ways. Whether it be as a player, volunteer, organiser, sponsor or donor, or simply a fan. You can join the team and help us make a difference.
Our main focus is providing opportunities for anyone to get involved in powerchair hockey. Whether you are a family member, allied-health professional, sport coordinator, or just someone who loves hockey – we will design a clinic specifically to fit the needs of the athletes and their families.
Our club is always looking for new players to join. If you think you’re ready to start playing, we can help you get started – contact us today.
Volunteers help us to facilitate the team, training sessions, social events and coaching! We are constantly looking for people to help out the team in many different ways.
We can host clinics and come-and-try events all around Victoria. In these events, participants will have a hands-on learning experience. Players will learn:
- basic rules of powerchair hockey
- how to maneuver their wheelchair and the ball
- learn essential tactics
- how to position themselves on court
Our clinics are typically 2-3 hours long depending on the number of participants. All participants are required to have their own power wheelchair, although spare powerchairs may also be available.
Our team will continue to communicate with participants after the clinics to ensure they receive support and encouragement. Local members of our team can also provide one-on-one training sessions for those looking to boost their skills quickly.
Our biggest passion is sport and we love raising awareness of powerchair hockey and the benefits of participating in a team. We want to share the sport, our community to those who could help us make more of an impact. If you are a business, community organisation, state sporting association or just anyone who is interested in seeing powerchair hockey, get in contact with us!
Being a fan of the team and the sport we play is incredibly important to us. Your support helps us spread the word and allows us to reach more and more people across the state, country and world!
Supporting the team as a sponsor or donor truly makes a difference in the lives of our athletes. Donations and sponsorships would help our teams travel to national competitions, access adaptive equipment for new players or be used to purchase powerchair hockey specific chairs to better compete with the best players in the world. Reach out to inquire about opportunities.
