Ducks seeking coaches

Are you seeking a rewarding coaching opportunity?

Melbourne Ducks have exciting openings for coaches to join the Division 1 and Division 2 teams participating in the VPL 2020/21 season. The positions will be to mentor and develop players in order to build and sustain the team’s performance at state level and at national championships.

If you are new to powerchair hockey or haven’t heard of it before, here is a general breakdown of the sport.

The successful applicant will:

  • Create and implement inclusive and engaging training programs that suit all abilities and ages.
  • Build strong team morale through encouragement and constructive feedback.
  • Facilitate a culture of inclusion and player enjoyment.
  • Develop skills, techniques and tactics to enhance player and team capability.

The position is open to current or former experienced powerchair hockey players looking to enter the coaching field. It is also open to anyone who may have experience in floorball or coaching in disability sport or community hockey.

Coaches must be available to attend team games per the current VPL fixtures. This is a volunteer position; however reasonable travel and general expenses can be reimbursed.
